Required Qualifications

  • Japanese bilingual skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field; equivalent experience accepted
  • 2–4 years of purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally in semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing
  • Experience with high-dollar purchasing preferred
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Occasional travel, weekend work, and short-notice support may be required
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 100+ lbs with use of hand tools

Responsibilities

The Purchasing Coordinator will manage procurement activities, supplier coordination, inventory oversight, and purchasing documentation in a semiconductor-related environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, evaluate, and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, and RFQs
  • Review supplier quotations and select optimal sources based on cost, lead time, technical requirements, and overall value
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, freight terms, and service levels with suppliers
  • Monitor inventory records, consumption trends, replenishment needs, and material availability
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, planning, finance, sales, and service teams
  • Maintain procurement records, vendor profiles, reports, and ERP/MRP data
  • Resolve supplier delivery delays, quality issues, cost variances, and invoice discrepancies
  • Support supplier negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement projects
  • May be assigned other duties by managers
