Senior Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Accounting Manager is a key leadership role responsible for managing complex accounting operations with a focus on tax compliance and foreign exchange (FX) reporting across domestic and international entities. This position oversees consolidated financial reporting, multi-jurisdictional tax compliance, and FX-related accounting for global subsidiaries, while supporting audit readiness, internal controls, and strategic financial planning. The role also leads and develops the accounting team and drives continuous process improvement.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare consolidated and divisional financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Oversee foreign exchange (FX) accounting and reporting for international subsidiaries, including intercompany transactions and elimination entries.
  • Support preparation of financial audit reports and manage internal and external audit readiness.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes across departments and international entities.
  • Manage corporate tax compliance and reporting for U.S. and Canadian entities, including high-volume multi-state income tax filings.
  • Oversee sales tax compliance and filings across 30+ states.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve internal operational controls and overall financial performance.
  • Review reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Manage corporate cash flow projections, banking relationships, and treasury operations.
  • Perform month-end account analysis and ad-hoc financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to support internal control and compliance.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure tracking.
  • Review and support accounting journal entries and close activities.
  • Support accounting initiatives and special projects, including ERP implementations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with international and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including corporate and international tax.
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.
  • Mergers and acquisitions experience is a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based role with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Repetitive hand and keyboard use required.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Work environment includes proximity to a machinery showroom with intermittent noise (e.g., forklifts, equipment movement).
