Postilion title: Sales Representative
Location: Schaumburg, IL
Salary: $60K–70K/year+ Bonus
Working hours: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Work style: Primarily on-site (remote work possible upon discussion)
A Japanese company in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a motivated Sales Representative to join its team.
The company manufactures and supplies adhesive and protective materials for automotive applications.
1. Sales
- Develops and maintains relationships with new and assigned customers and provides information to maximize sales volume.
- Gathers data on marketing trends, competitive products and pricing.
- Dealing with product complaints from customers.
- Dealing with slow moving inventory.
- Prepares a sales presentation and sales promotion samples or tools.
- Prepares and distributes various sales reports.
- Calculate MSI/SQM in monthly sales and quantity.
- Compile automotive production numbers and join a sales meeting with headquarters in Japan.
- Bridges the U.S. division and headquarters in Japan in relation to sales promotion of company products.
- Supports the U.S. sales team in administrative tasks, such as quote preparation, delivery-related issue solving, or others.
- Provides backup support for the sales team when necessary.
- Performs language translation between English and Japanese, when needed.
2. Inventory
- Checking out a wheel protection control sheet for IPC customer and estimating new order quantities to be placed with headquarters in Japan.
- Checking out a wheel protection, sash tape and anti-chip product forecast for Yamato International customer and estimating new order quantities to be placed with headquarters in Japan.
- Checking out a tire raw and finished roll inventory and estimating new order quantities to be placed with headquarters in Japan.
- Performs annual physical inventory count at warehouses.
3. Other
- Supports environmental survey.
- Supports courier custom clearance for jig parts and thermal ribbons.
- Working manual updating.
- Supports making graphic swatch books.
- Shipping / receiving mails and packaging.
- Buying office supplies.
4. During absence of a service representative
- Receiving customer’s PO / Shipping products / Sending COC / Invoicing.
- Creating a weekly report and sending it to employees.
Japanese language: Not required (but appreciated).
Sales type: Mainly sales to existing customers.
Products: Adhesive tapes for car window frames, protective foils for new tires, and other industrial materials.
Business trips: 1–2 times per month; attendance at trade shows about twice a year.
Experience: No specific industry experience required; around 3 years of sales experience preferred.
