Sales Representative (Individual Contributor)｜Japanese Chemical Manufacturer

A Japanese chemical manufacturer is seeking a Sales Representative to support its North American operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business and manage assigned customer accounts across North America
• Research market trends and gather customer and competitor insights to identify growth opportunities
• Work closely with Japan headquarters and local teams to ensure customer satisfaction and supply stability
• Support pricing discussions, negotiations, and proposal preparation
• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings as needed

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of sales experience, ideally within chemicals, automotive, or materials-related industries
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset
• Familiarity with Japanese business culture preferred
• English required; Japanese language skills are a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Location

• Novi, Michigan
• Occasional business travel required (limited travel to Atlanta or other regions)

Compensation and Employment

• Annual salary range: $80,000 to $90,000, depending on experience
• Full-time, exempt position
• Start date: As soon as possible
