About the Role

This position is responsible for promoting products and services, expanding market presence, and managing customer relationships across the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving sales growth, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting marketing initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Management

  • Develop and execute sales strategies and forecasts to identify new business opportunities.
  • Understand customer needs and budgets to tailor sales approaches effectively.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with existing accounts and sales representatives.
  • Conduct opportunity identification, account qualification, and needs analysis.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and activity metrics (calls, meetings, demos, etc.).
  • Provide regular updates to management and collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers.
  • Support technical coordination between U.S. and Japan-based teams.
  • Train and support Sales Representatives on new products.
  • Participate in exhibitions and follow up with prospective customers.
  • Update and maintain marketing tools such as websites, catalogs, and promotional materials.
  • Negotiate contracts with customers and representatives with the assistance of the legal team.
  • Handle administrative support as needed and assist visiting teams or trainees from Japan.
  • Ensure timely collections of accounts receivable.

Marketing Management

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Gather and evaluate data on market activities, competitor movements, and industry developments.
  • Prepare and present reports to management on market and competitor updates.
  • Attend conventions and industry meetings to stay informed on the latest market trends.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work Experience: No prior experience required (training provided).
  • License: Valid driver’s license required.
  • Language: English proficiency required; Japanese language ability is a plus.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%).
  • Interest in technology, industrial components, or system integration products preferred.
  • Ethical, professional, and proactive approach to work.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Environment: Office-based with moderate noise levels.
  • Travel: Up to 50% domestic and international business travel required.
  • Equipment: Standard office tools (PC, printer, copier, etc.).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
