Job Title: MEP Construction Manager- Japanese Bilingual

Position Summary
The MEP Construction Manager oversees all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout. This role ensures that design coordination, procurement, scheduling, and field execution align with project goals, timelines, and client requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial construction, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage complex MEP scopes across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction MEP activities, including bid package distribution, subcontractor evaluation, and client cost submissions.
- Attend client bid clarification meetings and represent the MEP team in pre-award discussions.
- Coordinate MEP design efforts with engineering firms to ensure alignment with client requirements.
- Support Project Executive in setting and achieving project budgets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and equipment vendors.
- Manage MEP procurement to meet project milestones, including direct purchasing of critical long-lead equipment.
- Oversee submittal and shop drawing review and approval processes.
- Develop and maintain detailed MEP construction schedules, coordinating closely with CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) teams.
- Review MEP construction drawings and coordinate subcontractor scopes of work.
- Resolve technical and engineering issues and prepare detailed technical reports.
- Lead value engineering initiatives and propose alternate design solutions to achieve target budgets.
- Manage project closeout documentation and commissioning activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections and oversee quality assurance, safety, and progress reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial construction within an MEP department.
- At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of MEP Construction Management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
- Proven organizational and time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Experience coordinating Test/Balance and Commissioning with subcontractors and vendors.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental practices in construction.
