Position Overview

This is a manager-level, successor-track role with a clear path into department leadership. The position blends product management and product marketing with a strong retail focus, and includes close, day-to-day collaboration with teams in Japan. It’s well-suited for someone who enjoys setting direction while staying hands-on, and who thrives in a collaborative, globally connected environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Product Manager, overseeing product planning, development, and ongoing improvements
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitor analysis with a strong emphasis on retail and B2C markets
  • Define product concepts, requirements, and priorities aligned with business goals
  • Partner closely with internal teams and Japan-based counterparts on product initiatives
  • Support marketing strategy, product positioning, and product launches
  • Coordinate with sales and cross-functional teams to drive product success
  • Gradually take on broader marketing leadership and departmental responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in product management and product marketing
  • Mandatory experience in the retail industry
  • Background in B2C marketing processes preferred
  • Experience marketing stationery, consumer goods, or similar retail products is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of Japanese business culture and cross-cultural collaboration
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills

Language Requirements

  • Full professional proficiency in English (read, write, speak)
  • Japanese language ability is not required, but cultural understanding is essential
