Manager of FP&A
Location: Itasca, IL (Hybrid)

Japanese chemical trading firm Chicago office seeking a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our finance team. This individual will lead budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and dashboard development for two of our core business units. You will collaborate with senior leadership across multiple departments and contribute to key strategic initiatives, financial reporting, and operational improvements.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes including model creation, variance analysis, and performance tracking
• Prepare financial statement packages, perform monthly/quarterly close activities, and conduct variance analysis
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and IT to improve data transparency and forecasting accuracy
• Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and executive-level reports to support business decision-making
• Analyze inventory, fixed assets, and reserve accounts while ensuring general ledger accuracy
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS (where applicable)
• Translate complex financial data into clear visualizations and executive presentations
• Drive continuous improvement by automating reporting processes and streamlining workflows
• Support M&A due diligence, scenario modeling, and other strategic projects
What You’ll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• 5–8 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools (SAP)
• Experience building and maintaining Tableau dashboards
• Experience automating financial and operational reports using Tableau or other BI tools.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
• Experience automating financial and operational reports using Tableau or other BI tools.
• Familiarity with data extraction and transformation processes with tools such as SQL, Alteryx, or Power Query is a plus
• Strong business acumen with a strategic perspective.
