Account Manager / Senior Sales Manager – International Logistics

Compensation
- Mid-level candidates: Approximately $80,000–$90,000 annually.
- Senior-level candidates: $110,000+ annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
One position is available. The title, scope of responsibilities, and compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Japanese-English bilingual sales professional for our Chicago branch. This role focuses on growing international logistics business, managing customer relationships, and developing transportation and supply chain solutions.
Candidates will be considered at either the Account Manager or Senior Sales Manager level. The senior-level role is intended to take over responsibilities currently handled by an expatriate employee.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business through prospecting, cold calling, lead follow-up, and customer visits.
- Manage existing accounts and identify opportunities to expand business.
- Understand customers’ transportation and supply chain needs and propose suitable logistics solutions.
- Prepare quotations and proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and follow up on opportunities.
- Coordinate with forwarding, warehousing, customs, and other internal teams.
- Monitor account performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Address service issues by coordinating internal follow-up and corrective actions.
- Maintain sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline records.
- Collaborate with offices in Japan and other countries to support multinational accounts.
Required Qualifications
- Sales experience in the international logistics or freight forwarding industry.
- Knowledge of international freight forwarding, import/export operations, and logistics solutions.
- Business-level Japanese and English.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach to business development.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
Additional Qualifications for Senior-Level Candidates
- 7+ years of relevant experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or related B2B sales, including international logistics sales experience.
- Proven experience managing major customer accounts and developing new business.
- Ability to coordinate with Japanese customers, overseas offices, and internal stakeholders.
