Responsible for growing sales and profitability across Asian grocery, foodservice, and related accounts in the Western U.S. The Manager develops customer and distributor relationships, executes sales and marketing programs, supports product development and pricing initiatives, and performs hands-on retail merchandising. Chinese and English proficiency is required for effective communication with assigned customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales and marketing programs to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Manage and grow distributor, retail, foodservice, technology, and Asian grocery accounts within the territory.
Identify new accounts, products, line extensions, and other growth opportunities.
Partner with leadership, regional sales, marketing, and production on pricing, product development, and promotional strategies.
Analyze consumer trends and market research to support business decisions.
Conduct customer visits, distributor ride-alongs, product training, and new-account development.
Maintain product availability, displays, shelving, menus, POS materials, and promotional execution at customer locations.
Support store resets, merchandising, and new-product launches.
Maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication, problem resolution, and timely follow-up.
Support trade shows, special events, and other marketing activities.
Track performance, complete required reporting, and manage against monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets.
Attend regional and company meetings as required.
Qualifications
Required:
Professional Chinese and English proficiency sufficient for customer and distributor communication.
2+ years of grocery retail sales experience with demonstrated achievement of sales objectives.
Ability to work independently and manage a territory with minimal supervision.
Ability to evaluate pricing, margins, costs, promotions, and overall business impact.
Strong relationship-building, communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. and frequently bend or squat while merchandising.
Valid driver's license, current vehicle liability insurance, and driving record meeting company requirements.
BS/MS degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Preferred:
Japanese and/or Korean language ability.
Experience with beverage, foodservice, grocery, or consumer packaged goods sales.
Other Details
Regular travel to customer and distributor locations is required. Responsibilities include hands-on merchandising in retail/store environments and maintenance of a company vehicle. Attendance at company meetings, including periodic out-of-state meetings, may be required.
