Electrical Controls Engineer

Location: Georgetown, KY

Compensation: $75,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-Time, On-site

Travel: Up to 35%

Japanese language ability required for technical communication and coordination with Japanese-speaking stakeholders.

Position Summary

Responsible for electrical controls design, programming, troubleshooting, debugging, installation, and commissioning of material handling and automated equipment. The role works directly with customers and project teams and requires Japanese language ability for relevant technical and project communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical controls for material handling and automated systems.
• Program, install, and troubleshoot PLC systems, including Mitsubishi, Keyence, and Allen-Bradley.
• Design and program HMI systems, including Mitsubishi and Pro-face.
• Design, program, install, and troubleshoot machine vision systems, including Keyence, Cognex, and Omron.
• Design, program, install, and troubleshoot robotic systems, including Kawasaki, FANUC, and Denso.
• Evaluate new equipment designs versus modifications to existing equipment.
• Direct and oversee electrical fabrication and assembly.
• Power up equipment, debug systems, and conduct in-house trials.
• Oversee equipment installation and commissioning at customer sites.
• Travel up to 35% as required.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an associate degree with applicable experience.
• Experience or applicable technical knowledge in electrical controls design, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and/or automated machinery.
• Ability to read and work with electrical control systems and related technical documentation.
• Japanese language ability required for job-related technical communication and coordination.
• Ability to travel up to 35%.

Preferred:

• Experience with Mitsubishi, Keyence, or Allen-Bradley PLCs.
• Experience with Mitsubishi or Pro-face HMIs.
• Experience with Keyence, Cognex, or Omron vision systems.
• Experience with Kawasaki, FANUC, or Denso robots.
• Automotive manufacturing or material handling systems experience.
