Position Overview

A growing packaging company in the Irving, TX area is seeking an Associate Account Manager to join its sales team.

This position will focus on building strong customer relationships, supporting existing accounts, developing new business opportunities, and helping move customer projects from initial discussions through commercialization.

Previous packaging industry experience is not required. The company is looking for someone with sales experience who is personable, professional, and enjoys building long-term relationships with customers. An interest in Japanese business culture and working in a multicultural, international environment is also highly valued.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to grow with the company and gradually take on greater responsibility for customer accounts, with a career path toward Account Manager / Sales Manager responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Support existing accounts and identify opportunities for account growth.
• Develop new customer and business opportunities.
• Communicate regularly with customers to understand their needs and follow up on ongoing opportunities.
• Support proposals, pricing discussions, and other commercial activities.
• Coordinate customer requirements and project needs with internal teams.
• Follow customer projects from initial discussions through commercialization.
• Maintain organized records of customer activities, opportunities, and project progress.
• Learn the company’s products, capabilities, and customer applications.
• Gradually take on greater responsibility for independent account management and business development.

Qualifications

• Experience in B2B sales, account management, business development, or a related customer-facing sales role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, professional, and collaborative approach.
• Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
• Good organizational skills with consistent follow-up and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and willing to learn new products and industries.
• Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional internal teams.
• Interest in Japanese business culture and working in a multicultural, international business environment.
• Packaging industry experience is not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing new business or growing existing customer accounts.
• Experience supporting proposals, pricing, or customer projects through commercialization.
• Experience working in a B2B, manufacturing, or international business environment.
