Company Overview
A semiconductor automation and robotics equipment company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the development and maintenance of advanced automated equipment. The engineering team works across electrical, mechanical, software, controls, manufacturing, and field service functions.
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer will design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems for semiconductor automation and robotic equipment. This hands-on role supports the full product lifecycle, from prototype development and design validation through manufacturing, installation, and customer-site support.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for semiconductor automation and robotic equipment.
Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable assemblies, and technical documentation.
Select sensors, motors, drives, power supplies, controllers, and other electrical components.
Integrate electrical, motion-control, and automation systems.
Perform electrical testing, debugging, validation, and equipment qualification.
Troubleshoot electrical and control issues with software and controls engineers.
Support prototype builds and transition new designs into manufacturing.
Resolve technical issues during production, installation, and customer support.
Coordinate with manufacturing teams and suppliers on components, assemblies, and design changes.
Maintain BOMs, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements to reliability, performance, cost, and manufacturability.
Support engineering change orders and continuous product improvements.
Provide electrical engineering support at customer sites as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably involving semiconductor equipment, industrial automation, robotics, or capital equipment.
Experience designing and troubleshooting electrical systems for automated equipment.
Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring, sensors, motors, motion systems, and control hardware.
Experience with AC/DC power systems, electrical panels, power distribution, and industrial controls.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
Experience with electrical CAD tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently manage multiple engineering projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
Semiconductor manufacturing equipment experience.
Wafer handling or robotic automation experience.
Vacuum or semiconductor process equipment knowledge.
Experience with servo motors and motion-control systems.
PLC and industrial control system experience.
Knowledge of safety circuits and interlock systems.
AutoCAD Electrical or similar software experience.
Equipment installation and customer-site support experience.
Other Details
Approximately 10% travel to customer sites and semiconductor manufacturing facilities, primarily domestic with occasional international travel.
