Position Overview

A New York-based company is seeking a Japanese-English bilingual HR professional to support a broad range of human resources functions.

This is a hands-on position responsible for supporting employees throughout the employment lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, attendance and leave administration, benefits, Workers' Compensation, HR compliance, and offboarding.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in HR and is comfortable handling a variety of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide individualized support to employees from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Japanese and English required
  • Professional experience in Human Resources
  • Hands-on experience across multiple HR functions, such as employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, performance management, leave administration, Workers' Compensation, and/or HR compliance
  • Broad HR knowledge with the ability and willingness to take on additional areas of responsibility
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment practices and HR compliance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling a broad range of HR responsibilities
  • Experience supporting employees in a multicultural and/or Japanese-English bilingual environment
  • Familiarity with employment practices and regulations applicable in New York
