We are seeking a Buyer / Pass-through Business Controller to support purchasing, production control, and program management activities within the automotive industry. This position coordinates Tier-2 suppliers and OEM customers, manages pass-through parts production and delivery, and supports sourcing, supplier negotiations, quality, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Manage production control for Tier-2 supplier components shipped directly to OEM assembly plants.
Coordinate product deliveries with customers and suppliers following Start of Production (SOP).
Monitor purchasing costs, delivery performance, quality, quantity, and inventory requirements.
Investigate and support resolution of non-conforming items and other supplier/customer issues.
Support material sourcing strategies, RFQs, supplier selection, and price negotiations.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor commodity and supplier market trends, new materials, and competitive practices.
Maintain supplier documentation and cost controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
3+ years of supply chain management or production control experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of production control processes and program management.
Strong supplier negotiation and relationship-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
Basic understanding of EDI, ERP, or material handling systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of automotive production control, supply chain management, and raw materials.
Ability to travel approximately 20–25% based on supplier and customer requirements.
