Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: $24-26 per hour

Position Summary

A company supporting the oil and gas industry is seeking a detail-oriented Calibration Technician for its repair center in Sugar Land, Texas. The Calibration Technician will perform calibration work on directional module packages and similar products used in oil and gas operations. This position is also responsible for documenting calibration results, repair details, and product defect information in the company’s system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general calibration work on directional module packages and related equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of products and components.
  • Use calibration stands and testing systems to identify defective product performance.
  • Perform calibration adjustments using specialized equipment, jigs, and data collection software.
  • Monitor calibration stand ovens, identify operational issues, and take appropriate action to complete the calibration process.
  • Troubleshoot testing and calibration failures.
  • Accurately enter defect information, repair details, and calibration data into the system.
  • Maintain accurate and complete calibration records.
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Primary Duties

  • General calibration work: approximately 70%
  • Data entry of defect, repair, and calibration information: approximately 20%
  • Other administrative duties: approximately 10%

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of calibration, testing, repair, manufacturing, or related operational experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • General computer skills and experience with data entry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform precise work while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and testing failures effectively.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours during a workday.
  • Ability to safely operate calibration and testing equipment.
