Senior Director of Engineering
Location: Greater Toronto Area (Ontario) or Massachusetts (USA)
Salary: $150,000 – $200,000
About the Role
A global leader in power electronics and power conversion solutions, is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead its engineering teams across North America and Asia. This role will be responsible for driving engineering strategy, leading product development, building high-performing teams, and supporting the company's growth through innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a global engineering organization.
- Drive engineering strategy and annual business planning.
- Oversee the design and development of power conversion and power supply products.
- Partner with Operations to ensure successful product launches and manufacturing transfers.
- Lead engineering managers and technical teams while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Establish engineering processes, project governance, and performance metrics.
- Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, and customers on product roadmaps and technical solutions.
- Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership for complex engineering and product development challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Power Electronics or related field preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in power electronics or power supply design and development.
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience managing engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in power conversion, power supply design, EMI/EMC, thermal management, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience bringing products from concept through production.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills.
- Experience managing global engineering teams and multiple development programs.
- Japanese language skills are highly preferred.
