Business Development Specialist (Bilingual)

About the Role

We are seeking a bilingual Business Development Specialist to drive business growth and support industrial construction projects across the United States. This role combines business development, client relationship management, project coordination, and preconstruction support. The ideal candidate will work closely with Japanese and English-speaking clients, project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships, and ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to generate business opportunities.
  • Conduct client visits, presentations, and business development activities.
  • Support project estimating, budgeting, and preconstruction planning.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and quality inspections.
  • Assist with project scheduling, administration, and closeout activities.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met through effective communication and problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in construction, industrial projects, or business development. (Construction industry is preferred, but other B2B sales experience is considerable.)
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, project estimating, and scheduling.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English speaking and written

Additional Information

  • Travel up to 50% to project and client sites. (Mostly day trips. 2-4 nights/months within USA.)
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when required by project demands.
