We are seeking a bilingual Assistant Controller to support accounting and financial operations within a manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with the local Controller based in Ohio and serve as a key point of contact with the Japan headquarters on accounting, financial reporting, and audit-related matters.

This position is designed with a clear path toward a future Controller role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the local Controller in daily accounting and financial operations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare and review financial reports and supporting documentation
  • Communicate and coordinate with Japan headquarters on accounting matters, reporting, and audits
  • Support audit activities, including working with external audit firms and preparing required materials
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards
  • Participate in ERP-related initiatives, including implementation or system improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations

Qualifications

Required

  • Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in accounting

Preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting audits or working with external auditors
  • ERP implementation or system experience (Infor preferred)
