We are seeking an experienced Japanese/English Bilingual Sales and Operations Specialist with strong logistics and freight industry knowledge. This role is responsible for expanding existing accounts, developing new business opportunities, and supporting end‑to‑end freight and logistics operations while maintaining excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Expand existing customer accounts and develop new business opportunities
Create customized proposals and competitive pricing strategies
Negotiate rates and terms to close profitable deals
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and spot rates
Provide weekly sales reports, pipeline updates, and revenue forecasts
Build a profitable freight brokerage operation with future leadership potential
Operations & Coordination
Coordinate with steamship lines, airlines, warehouses, carriers, dispatch, and operations teams
Support shipping and logistics coordination, including customs brokerage as needed
Arrange pickups and deliveries, including outside regular business hours when required
Visit customers, vendors, or ports as necessary (including weekends or holidays)
Customer Service & Troubleshooting
Maintain smooth communication with customers and respond promptly to inquiries
Troubleshoot shipment issues and notify customers of delays or claims
Record, report, and resolve operational issues in internal systems
Manage accounts receivable and payable; follow up on overdue invoices
Ensure accurate shipment arrival and delivery information
Strategic & Financial Support
Support operational policies, procedures, and sales strategies
Manage departmental costs and support budget objectives
Track operating expenses and contribute to year‑end performance reviews
Report sales and operational results to management
Qualifications & Requirements
3+ years of experience in sales, operations, or logistics/freight forwarding
Strong Japanese and English proficiency
Willingness to work flexible hours as business needs require
