Position: Sales Representative
Reports to: Assistant Sales Manager
Position Summary
The Sales Representative is responsible for selling industrial fasteners and related products, managing customer relationships, and supporting overall sales operations. This role includes both inside and outside sales activities, account development, and coordination with internal teams
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Conduct sales activities via phone, email, and in-person visits
- Develop new accounts and maintain existing customer relationships
- Deliver sales presentations and propose solutions to customers
- Plan and implement sales, marketing, and pricing strategies
Quotation & Order Management
- Prepare and issue price quotations based on company guidelines
- Coordinate with engineering teams for new products or technical requirements
- Receive and verify customer orders and coordinate order processing
- Issue purchase requisitions for resale products
Customer Support
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly
- Resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, and pricing
- Maintain long-term relationships with customers
Reporting & Analysis
- Support monthly sales forecasts and budgeting activities
- Provide insights on customer and sales performance
- Prepare sales and expense reports as required
Inventory & Operations Support
- Participate in inventory audits and physical counts
- Reconcile discrepancies and maintain accurate records
- Maintain customer account files including quotes, orders, and pricing
General Duties
- Perform administrative tasks using office equipment
- Work in both office and warehouse environments as needed
- Handle and move materials weighing 40–50 lbs
- Travel to customer sites as required
- Support team members and assist with special projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Fluency in both Japanese and English (reading, writing, and speaking) is required
- (Additional training in business, sales, or material control preferred; Bachelor’s degree is a plus)
- 2–3 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Sales of industrial products
- Purchasing
- Material control
- Strong communication and basic math skills
- Ability to lift and handle items weighing 40–50 lbs
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Preferred Profile
- Experience in B2B industrial sales
- Comfortable with both remote and in-person customer interaction
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Able to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
