Bilingual Japanese-English Interpreter / Translator (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Cibolo, TX (relocation support available)

Salary range: $60-70K/yea

Seeking a highly skilled Japanese-English Interpreter/Translator to support communication across executive leadership, production, and administrative teams within a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth collaboration between Japanese and English-speaking stakeholders.

Location: On-site (Relocation support available)

Key Responsibilities

Interpretation and Translation

  • Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for meetings involving leadership, production, and administrative teams
  • Support interviews and HR processes to ensure clear and professional communication for candidates
  • Translate documents, presentations, and technical materials (Japanese to English and English to Japanese) with high accuracy and cultural awareness

Technical Language and Industry Support

  • Learn and apply automotive manufacturing terminology and technical language
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to accurately convey complex technical information

Documentation and Presentation

  • Prepare and translate materials using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Ensure all content meets internal quality standards and is clearly understood across teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with HR, management, and production teams on various projects and initiatives
  • Provide cultural insights to support effective communication between Japanese and U.S. team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year university degree) required
  • Minimum 2 years of on-site interpretation and translation experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment
  • Physically capable of moving around a large manufacturing facility
