Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant or Assistant Manager of Field Engineering to provide technical support for a Clinical Chemistry Analyzer used in Fecal Immunochemical Testing (FIT). This role focuses on applications support, assay operation, troubleshooting, servicing, and distributor/customer support across the Americas.

This position reports directly to the CEO and plays a key role in supporting distributors and customers throughout North, Central, and South America.

Work Style & Travel

  • Candidates residing outside San Antonio may primarily work remotely, with on-site attendance as needed.
  • Domestic and international business travel within the Americas is required approximately 3–4 times per year.
  • Work environments include home office, corporate office, hospital laboratories, and distributor offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure optimal performance of clinical chemistry analyzers and reference systems
  • Inspect, calibrate, and maintain analyzers to ensure performance accuracy
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures or malfunctions
  • Provide technical and applications support to distributors and customers
  • Assist with assay operation and technical training
  • Create and review technical documentation in English, Spanish, and Portuguese
  • Communicate effectively with customers, distributors, and internal team members via email and phone

Required Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Spanish, and Portuguese
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with structured documentation skills
  • Physically capable of performing inspection and service activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in laboratory diagnostics and/or Clinical Chemistry applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related (Mechanical) field
  • 2+ years of experience as a Chemical Engineering Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of chemical processes and laboratory techniques
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety regulations and procedures
