Work Location: San Jose, CA *100% work @ office and lab
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 4 hours of part-time jobs, basically 9am – 1pm (can be flexible)
Qualified operator should have/be:
B.S. in STEM is preferred, but candidates currently enrolled are encouraged to apply.
1-3 years of lab work experience is ideal. Class lab work is acceptable.
Knowledge and experience of material analysis with FT-IR, UV-Vis, ICP-MS.
Ability to perform maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of instruments.
Knowledge of analytical method development also a plus.
Excellent communication skills and detail-oriented
Experience in a chemical laboratory is preferred (laboratory coursework is acceptable)
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Conduct material characterization including particle size, molecular weight, chemical structure, impurities and related
Conduct material property analysis utilizing FT-IR, UV-vis, and related
Evaluation of performance for application development and product technical support
Provide well written reports on analysis of material properties or evaluation of products
Will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory and pilot equipment as well as required calibrations
Participate on teams to help improve programs like safety and lab management operations
Be responsible for capital projects for the procurement and installation of new laboratory equipment
Aid in new product applications trials in the technical center and at customers – along with the ability to prioritize work and complete in a timely manner
Also responsible for general functions with regards to laboratory readiness and material organization
