Job Description

We are seeking a Sales Assistant fluent in Japanese and English to support corporate sales function within the logistics industry.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and sales support to corporate and regional sales staff
• Collect and organize customer information through sales activities, including pre-visit research for new client meetings
• Record customer interactions and meeting reports in CRM
• Prepare logistics-related reports and research materials (e.g., tariffs, global market trends, trade news)
• Create quotations and assist in coordinating with operations teams for new shipment arrangements
• Extract and distribute sales reports from CRM data
• Compile and analyze monthly profit-and-loss reports, including branch-level performance summaries
• Prepare presentation materials (mainly in PowerPoint) for internal and external meetings
• Arrange travel schedules and itineraries for business trips (flights, hotels, schedules)
• Manage sales progress tracking sheets and consolidate sales activities of team members
• Support communication with Japan headquarters, including preparation of Japanese-language documents

Requirements:

• Bilingual: fluent in Japanese and English (required)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Experience with CRM systems preferred
• Prior logistics industry experience is not required

Work Conditions:

• Location: Chicago office (corporate function)
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (Non-exempt)
• Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour break)
  • Flexible adjustment possible (e.g., start 30 min earlier and leave 30 min earlier)
• Primarily in-office
• No business travel required
• Expected to work long-term
• Possibility of future reassignment to other sales support functions within branches

Compensation:

• Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 per year
