Mechanical Process Engineer

Location: Covington, GA

Salary: $60,000 ~ $120,000 (commensurate with experience)

Schedule: Full-time, Onsite (40 hours/week)

A global Japanese automotive parts manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to support manufacturing process improvements, equipment design, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on manufacturing, machine design, and Kaizen activities in a collaborative production environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and production efficiency through continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives.
  • Design, modify, and optimize manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and production processes.
  • Lead equipment installation, machine modification, testing, and process validation projects.
  • Analyze manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop engineering documentation, including mechanical drawings, specifications, work instructions, and project reports.
  • Manage engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with vendors and contractors.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, and productivity.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machine design, automation, and process improvement.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, pneumatic, hydraulic, and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or root cause analysis is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication processes, machine troubleshooting, or equipment installation is preferred.
  • Basic PLC knowledge (Omron, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens) is a plus but not required.
  • Japanese language skills are welcome but not required.
