Controls Engineer – Mitsubishi PLC

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support manufacturing equipment by designing, programming, troubleshooting, and improving industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming and maintaining Mitsubishi PLC-based control systems in a manufacturing environment.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot Mitsubishi PLCs and HMIs.
  • Support production equipment by diagnosing electrical and control system issues.
  • Develop and improve PLC programs to increase machine reliability and productivity.
  • Commission new automation equipment and support equipment upgrades.
  • Work with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Document PLC programs, electrical changes, and system modifications.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities related to automation systems.
  • Assist with continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Ensure equipment complies with company and safety standards.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of industrial controls or automation engineering experience.
  • Direct experience programming Mitsubishi PLCs.
  • Japanese language skills or familiarity with Japanese business culture is preferred.
