A growing U.S. subsidiary of a global semiconductor equipment company is seeking an Application Engineer to support advanced SEM metrology systems at a major semiconductor equipment manufacturer in Boise, Idaho.


This position is ideal for candidates with semiconductor front-end process or equipment experience who are interested in working closely with customers on process optimization, technical support, and next-generation metrology applications.


Key Responsibilities

• Support customers using SEM metrology systems for semiconductor manufacturing and R&D applications

• Demonstrate tool capabilities and optimize measurement recipes for various semiconductor processes

• Analyze metrology and process data, and provide technical feedback to customers and internal engineering teams

• Conduct technical presentations, reporting, and customer training

• Troubleshoot application/software-related issues and support continuous process improvement

• Collaborate with engineering teams in both the U.S. and Japan


Qualifications

• Experience with semiconductor front-end equipment or semiconductor manufacturing processes required

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Experience with SEM, metrology, process engineering, or semiconductor manufacturing preferred

• Data analysis experience using Excel, JMP, Spotfire, R, or similar tools is a plus

• Basic scripting knowledge (Python, macros, etc.) is a plus

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States


Training & Support

• Comprehensive onboarding and technical training provided

• 6+ months of on-site mentorship with senior engineers

• Periodic advanced technical training at Headquarters in Japan


Travel

• Occasional travel between Boise and Phoenix may be required

• Periodic travel to Japan Headquarters for technical training
