Intern – Assistant Researcher
A leading Japanese media organization is seeking a bilingual Intern – Assistant Researcher to support its Washington, D.C. bureau.
This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in journalism, media, international affairs, politics, or research, and offers hands-on exposure to the fast-paced world of Japanese news media in the U.S.
Location: Washington, D.C.
Schedule: Approx. 4 days/week (flexible based on class schedule)
Pay: $27/hour
Start Date: ASAP / June start preferred
Visa: OPT candidates welcome
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and fact-checking related to current events and political/economic topics
- Support correspondents and editorial staff with reporting preparation
- Gather background information on public figures, organizations, and trending news topics
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks within the bureau
- Contribute to the overall quality and accuracy of media content
Qualifications:
- Interest in journalism, media, politics, or international affairs
- Strong research and communication skills
- Japanese-English bilingual ability preferred
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information professionally
- Students currently enrolled in university or graduate programs encouraged to apply
