Japanese anime pop-up store is looking for Store Supervisor in Torrance, CA.

Position Summary

Title: Store Supervisor

Pay: $28/h

Term: June 2026-Mar 2027

Work schedule: up to 40 hours/week (shift schedule)

Location: Torrance, CA

Job duties

• Supervise and support 6–10 staff per shift
• Monitor customer service standards and provide guidance when needed
• Assist with staff scheduling and task delegation
• Responsible for ensuring that employees take all required meal and rest breaks and that each break is properly recorded on the employee timecard in accordance with California labor laws.
• Handle customer issues, including complaints, returns, exchanges, voids, and discounts in accordance with store policy.
• Communicate with the client’s Japanese HQ for daily reports and updates
• Ensure inventory accuracy and product display maintenance
• Ensure compliance with store rules and safety protocols
• Oversee cash handling and register operations, taking full responsibility for the accuracy, security, and integrity of all transactions. This is a critical duty essential to store operations and financial accountability. Ensuring all staff follow cash handling procedures
• Completing opening and closing checklists and ensuring store readiness
• Producing a short daily shift report that covers sales activity, staffing, and any incidents
• Serving as the primary onsite point of contact for Agency and us.
• Coordinating with mall security for incidents, crowd control, or emergencies when needed
• Supporting crowd control and line management during peak times and events
• Following assigned meal and rest break schedules

1. Individuals who are interested in Japanese animation/anime
2. Individuals who are able to work long-term
3. Individuals who can properly follow rules and guidelines, as this is a Japanese retail shop
4. Individuals with strong communication skills and good etiquette/greetings
5. Japanese speakers will be given priority.
