Sales Associate – Japanese Bilingual

Summary of the Position:

This position plays a key role in driving sales growth and expanding market presence within the food industry. The Sales Associate will build strong relationships with distributors and restaurant clients while promoting high-quality food products.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food culture, enjoys working directly with customers, and thrives in a dynamic, relationship-driven sales environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management & Business Development

• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and restaurant clients
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outreach and networking
• Expand and manage existing accounts to drive sales growth

Sales Activities & Customer Engagement

• Conduct regular client visits within assigned territories (including out-of-state travel)
• Present products and propose solutions based on customer needs
• Support product demonstrations, tastings, trade shows, and sales presentations
• Provide timely and high-quality customer service

Sales Operations & Market Insights

• Track and maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and customer interactions
• Gather market intelligence and support sales strategy development
• Collaborate with internal teams and distributor partners to ensure smooth operations
• Participate in weekend work and travel as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of sales experience in manufacturing or distribution
• 2+ years of experience in the food industry preferred
• Experience working with food distributors and/or restaurant clients
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to present products to groups effectively
• Willingness to travel domestically (including outside of California)
• Valid driver’s license required
