Cost Analyst
Location: Plymouth, MI
Work Style: Hybrid (2 office days per week)
Work Hours: 8am-5pm
Japanese company specialized in Automotive interior, and components is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to support financial planning and cost management activities within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for analyzing cost and revenue data, supporting budgeting processes, and providing insights that drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform standard cost calculations and support pricing reviews and negotiations
- Analyze production cost variances and monitor KPIs
- Support Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis and financial reporting
- Evaluate cost impacts from engineering changes and new product developments
- Contribute to budgeting activities (material, freight, scrap, labor)
- Maintain and update cost data in ERP systems (QAD preferred)
- Review and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations and finance
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, including automation and AI tools
- May be assigned other duties by managers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ~3 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance
- Strong understanding of financial statements and cost accounting principles
