Cost Analyst

Location: Plymouth, MI

Work Style: Hybrid (2 office days per week)

Work Hours: 8am-5pm

Japanese company specialized in Automotive interior, and components is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to support financial planning and cost management activities within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for analyzing cost and revenue data, supporting budgeting processes, and providing insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform standard cost calculations and support pricing reviews and negotiations
• Analyze production cost variances and monitor KPIs
• Support Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis and financial reporting
• Evaluate cost impacts from engineering changes and new product developments
• Contribute to budgeting activities (material, freight, scrap, labor)
• Maintain and update cost data in ERP systems (QAD preferred)
• Review and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations and finance
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, including automation and AI tools
• May be assigned other duties by managers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• ~3 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance
• Strong understanding of financial statements and cost accounting principles
