Position: Customer Service Specialist – Resin Chemicals

Location: Novi, MI

Work style: Hybrid (3 times office, 2 times WFH/week)

Language: Japanese and English

Work Hours: 9am-5pm, 35h/week

Pay range: $24-$27/hour (DOE)


Job Summary

We are seeking a Customer Service Specialist to support customers in the resin chemicals industry. This role is responsible for managing customer orders, coordinating shipments, supporting export operations, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

The position works closely with sales, logistics, and production planning teams to ensure accurate order processing, on-time deliveries, and excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

Order Management

  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Collect and review customer forecasts and share relevant information with internal teams.
  • Coordinate with logistics and production teams to ensure proper handling and shipment of engineering plastic products.
  • Manage and verify shipment documentation in compliance with international trade regulations.

Export & Logistics Coordination

  • Communicate with freight forwarders to coordinate export shipments.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and resolve delays or logistics issues.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records, invoices, and related documentation.
  • Share order information with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and support repeat business.
  • Provide order confirmations and shipment updates.
  • Support internal teams in managing customer credit and order status.

Accounts Receivable Support

  • Assist with tracking receivables and reporting collection status to internal departments.
  • Work with sales teams to follow up on outstanding payments when necessary.

Customer Support

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone and email.
  • Provide accurate information regarding shipment schedules and export/import processes.
  • Address customer concerns and requests efficiently.

Product Knowledge & Industry Awareness

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products and services.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and changes in trade regulations.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback and reports to management when required.

Qualifications

  • Japanese and English bilingual
  • Must have experience with MS Office (365)
  • Experience in office job. Customer service, order management, or logistics coordination experience would be a plus)
