3D Sculptural Designer – Japanese Bilingual

**Expert-level Japanese skills are required.**

A well-established contemporary art studio is in search of a 3D Sculptural Designer to join their Design team in New York.

This role focuses on creating highly detailed digital sculptures and 3D models that support the production of large-scale sculptural works and exhibitions. The position works closely with the lead artist and internal production teams to translate artistic concepts into precise, production-ready digital assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Create digital sculptures and advanced 3D models using tools such as ZBrush and Rhino

• Develop organic forms and highly detailed sculptural surfaces in a digital environment

• Execute projects from initial concept sketches through finalized 3D production files

• Optimize digital assets for 3D printing and fabrication processes

• Produce digital maquettes to support exhibition design and spatial planning

• Translate artistic direction into refined sculptural expressions through technical execution

• Create digital animations when required for project visualization

• Collaborate with internal design teams, project managers, and external partners to ensure smooth project delivery

Requirements

• Strong professional design portfolio demonstrating sculptural or 3D modeling work

• Experience with digital sculpting using ZBrush

• Proficiency in Rhino or equivalent 3D modeling software

• Demonstrated experience creating organic forms and high-detail sculptural work

• Understanding of preparing digital files for physical fabrication (sculpture, product design, or large-scale works)

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
