Position Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department at the company’s U.S. headquarters. The Accounting Manager ensures the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, manages the general ledger, and coordinates monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
This role will supervise a team of accounting professionals and provide leadership, training, and performance feedback to support both individual and departmental growth.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly and annual financial statements and closing processes
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and forecast P&L reports
- Manage account balances and ensure the accuracy of accounting records
- Standardize and streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency
- Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheets and income statements
- Prepare management reports including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate corporate tax filings and work with external tax advisors as needed
- Support tax audits, financial audits, and 401(k) audits
- Manage tax compliance and identify potential tax-saving opportunities
- Develop and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Support internal and external audits
- Oversee cash flow management
- Manage banking relationships, loans, and repayments
- Oversee payment and receipt processes
- Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff
- Assign work, monitor progress, and review work for accuracy
- Develop performance evaluations and staff development plans
- Collaborate with management and other departments
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA license desired
- Over 5 years of accounting experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably automotive industry.
- 2 years of team management experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
