Position Summary

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customer relationships, handling ongoing business sales activities, and overseeing new program launches. This role serves as a key liaison between the customers and internal OEM departments, including coordination with the parent and sister companies. The Account Manager will also support the Sales Manager in steering activities within the Turbo Department to align with corporate goals and strategies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer accounts, overseeing sales forecasting, commercial negotiations, supply coordination, and delivery to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle for OEM programs, including receipt and analysis of RFIs/RFQs, pricing strategy development, quote submissions, price reviews, forecasting, negotiation, and purchase order processing.
  • Facilitate sales support throughout the APQP process to ensure successful program launches.
  • Track and manage open action items with customers, prepare and maintain comprehensive records, reports, meeting minutes, and organize customer activity files. Communicate updates to the Sales Manager and corporate headquarters in Japan.
  • Relay customer requirements regarding design changes, commercial terms, manufacturing, and quality to cross-functional teams across the U.S., Japan, Thailand, and Europe.
  • Lead engineering and commercial negotiations with customers; facilitate communication between customers and affiliated global offices.
  • Analyze market data to inform pricing strategies and drive sales and profit growth.
  • Review and negotiate legal agreements including Terms & Conditions and NDAs with support from the Legal Department.
  • Serve as administrator for customer portals; maintain data integrity and usability.
  • Manage customer scorecards, oversee accounts receivable, and coordinate customer visits.
  • Attend training sessions and programs to stay current with industry practices and enhance performance in the role.
  • Promote products through customer meetings, presentations, and proactive outreach.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to customer sites and manufacturing facilities.
  • Participate in early morning and evening conference calls with global teams.
  • Provide support to team members and contribute to group activities as required.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in the automotive industry; experience in the turbocharger sector is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-pressure deadlines and dynamic workloads.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods during the workday.
  • Capability to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and database systems.
