Role: Senior EHS Specialist
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
Salary: $90,000 – $110,000
Workstyle: On-site, 5 days per week (construction project site)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior EHS Specialist to oversee safety operations for the construction of water treatment systems. This role is responsible for ensuring construction activities are conducted safely and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as client and project standards.
Working closely with project managers, contractors, and the broader EHS team, this position plays a key role in maintaining a safe construction environment while supporting project quality and schedule objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of construction safety practices, OSHA regulations, and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risk on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Safety Oversight
- Plan and coordinate site safety facilities, equipment, and temporary installations in compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and risk assessments to ensure a safe work environment.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and site requirements.
- Participate in construction management meetings to address safety concerns and communicate safety expectations.
Training & Compliance
- Provide safety training, guidance, and support to workers and contractors.
- Maintain documentation and records related to safety compliance and construction activities.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed throughout the construction lifecycle.
Incident Management
- Investigate safety incidents, near-misses, and hazards.
- Document incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Report safety concerns promptly to management and ensure compliance with reporting procedures.
Project & Team Support
- Assist with reviewing site conditions relative to the project schedule and coordinate safety matters with contractors.
- Support collection and consolidation of construction safety records from contractors.
- Provide additional support to the EHS team as assigned by the EHS Director.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of safety certifications and relevant experience will be considered
Experience
- 5+ years of safety experience in construction or production environments
- Experience managing safety programs on active construction sites
Certifications
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- OSHA 510 Certification (Construction)
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills
- Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective safety measures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and conduct site inspections for extended periods
- Capable of carrying inspection equipment and accessing various construction areas
- Occasional desk work and computer usage for reporting and documentation
