Location: Hybrid (1-2 times at the office per week)

Position Overview
A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable to support financial operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role is responsible for managing AR processes, maintaining general ledger accuracy, supporting audits, and assisting with tax compliance. The position also includes mentoring junior accounting staff and contributing to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Improve efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts receivable process
- Monitor outstanding receivables and prepare related reports
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain strong relationships with customers
- Support financial planning through cash forecasting
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff
General Accounting
- Prepare and analyze journal entries and general ledger accounts
- Perform financial analysis and support financial reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support financial audits and related documentation
- Coordinate with internal and group entities on accounting matters
Tax & Compliance
- Monitor sales and use tax obligations and regulatory updates
- Prepare and file sales/use tax returns including Canadian GST
- Maintain compliance documentation such as tax exemption certificates
- Assist with preparation for annual income tax filings (U.S. and Canada)
- Support transfer pricing documentation
Audit & Fixed Assets
- Provide support for internal and external audits
- Maintain records and controls for fixed assets
- Record asset acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation
- Coordinate periodic physical asset counts
Additional Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and internal controls
- Support special accounting projects as assigned
- Maintain high ethical standards and compliance with company policies
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Experience
- 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or accounting experience preferred
Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Japanese language skill preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 preferred)
