Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant or Assistant Manager of Field Engineering to provide technical support for a Clinical Chemistry Analyzer used in Fecal Immunochemical Testing (FIT). This role focuses on applications support, assay operation, troubleshooting, servicing, and distributor/customer support across the Americas.
This position reports directly to the CEO and plays a key role in supporting distributors and customers throughout North, Central, and South America.
Work Style & Travel
- Candidates residing outside San Antonio may primarily work remotely, with on-site attendance as needed.
- Domestic and international business travel within the Americas is required approximately 3–4 times per year.
- Work environments include home office, corporate office, hospital laboratories, and distributor offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and ensure optimal performance of clinical chemistry analyzers and reference systems
- Inspect, calibrate, and maintain analyzers to ensure performance accuracy
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures or malfunctions
- Provide technical and applications support to distributors and customers
- Assist with assay operation and technical training
- Create and review technical documentation in English, Spanish, and Portuguese
- Communicate effectively with customers, distributors, and internal team members via email and phone
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English, Spanish, and Portuguese
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with structured documentation skills
- Physically capable of performing inspection and service activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in laboratory diagnostics and/or Clinical Chemistry applications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related (Mechanical) field
- 2+ years of experience as a Chemical Engineering Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes and laboratory techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory safety regulations and procedures
