A Japanese company is seeking a Junior Business Development Associate.

*Sales experience in the interior design, residential housing, or hospitality (hotel) industries is highly preferred.


Location : New York, NY ONSITE

Salary $60K-$66K (DOE)＋Bonus

Work hours: 9am-5pm

Travel: Once every 2 months


Position Summary

They are seeking a motivated Junior Business Development Associate to support business development activities and maintain long-term relationships with clients in the design and architectural industry.

This position focuses on identifying new project opportunities, coordinating proposals and quotations, supporting early project phases, and ensuring smooth order fulfilment. The role requires proactive client engagement and collaboration with internal teams and factory partners.

This is a non-commission-based role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with designers, architects, distributors, and other key clients
  • Attend client meetings, present our products, and participate in project discussions
  • Prepare quotations and follow through on sales processes
  • Respond to enquiries and provide support to clients throughout the entire sales cycle
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients during early project phases
  • Coordinate with the internal team and factory to ensure smooth order fulfilment
  • Arrange purchase orders (PO) with suppliers
  • Maintain accurate project and client documentation
  • Provide occasional assistance related to installation or after-maintenance matters if business needs require

Installation attendance is not a regular duty of this position. However, the employee may be asked to support site-related matters on an occasional basis depending on project requirements.


Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Interior Design, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales support, project coordination, or a customer-facing sales role
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and enjoys meeting new people
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Interest in interior design, architecture, or hardware products is a bonus
