Title: Export Promotion Assistant

(Public Affairs Department / Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and other industries Group)

Wage: $24.5/hour

Work Hours: 9:00-17:00 (Lunch12:00-13:00)

Work Style: Office 3-5 days at office, 0-2 days WFH

Location: New York, NY

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with export promotion activities for food, agricultural, forestry, fisheries, and other related industries in the United States.
• Provide support for promotional events, trade consultations, and related programs, including coordination and communication with relevant stakeholders.
• Arrange appointments and attend meetings (including virtual meetings).
• Support various research activities related to the U.S. market for food and agricultural products, such as:
  • Marketing research
  • Research on distribution channels and regulations
  • Creating and following up on company lists
  • Drafting brief reports and summaries
• Collect and compile information related to Japanese food and agricultural products.
• Assist with export promotion activities for other industries (e.g., e-commerce).
• Handle general administrative and clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong written communication skills in both Japanese and English, and ability to conduct reading comprehension, interviews, and telephone correspondence in English.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Excel skills must include calculations and chart creation).
• Willingness to travel domestically within the United States as needed.
• Strong interest in the food industry (including food products, beverages, and the restaurant industry) preferred.
