Position Title: Sales Representative
Location: Chicago, IL or Troy, MI
Position Overview
This position reports to the Sales Manager and is based in either the Chicago or Troy office with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote when not traveling).
The primary responsibility (90–95%) is managing and strengthening existing automotive customer accounts. This role requires strong account management skills, proactive communication, and the ability to build long-term partnerships while supporting automotive chemical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts
- Identify new opportunities within assigned accounts
- Build strong client relationships and provide ongoing support
- Negotiate contracts and prepare proposals
- Support pricing, collections, customer portals, and APQP documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely customer support
- Stay informed on industry and product developments
Travel
- 25–50% travel (primarily U.S., limited Canada)
- Mainly Midwest and Southern U.S., Greater Toronto area, occasional West Coast
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of B2B sales or account management experience
- Automotive industry experience preferred, not required
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated with growth mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Valid driver’s license and passport
