Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering projects from concept through completion (budgeting, ROI analysis, scheduling, RFQs, vendor management, installation, validation, and final documentation)
- Evaluate and implement equipment modifications to improve production efficiency, reliability, and performance
- Design and develop 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Oversee fabrication of new and replacement parts (internal and external vendors)
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and implement root cause countermeasures
- Support production and maintenance teams with technical expertise
- Drive Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives
- Implement improvements using formal change processes (ECR/ECO)
- Address ergonomic and safety-related concerns with practical engineering solutions
- Support plant utilities systems (compressed air, chilled water, process water), including flow and demand calculations
- Develop and update preventive maintenance procedures and schedules
- Prepare and present technical reports, project proposals, and training materials
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and machine fabrication
- 6–8 years of experience in equipment layout design and plant utility systems
- Experience managing installations, contractor scope, and construction oversight
- Strong project management skills with start-to-finish project leadership experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience in powder handling or related process industries
