Sales Representative -Japanese bilingual
Location: Novi, MI (In-Office)
Travel: Approximately 10% (IL plant / MI / OH)
About the Company
A globally recognized automotive supplier specializing in plastic injection-molded components and decorative trim systems is seeking a Sales Representative to support its Michigan office.
With strong product knowledge and awareness of industry trends, the Sales Representative will develop new business opportunities, communicate directly with clients and prospects, understand their operational needs, and recommend solutions that maximize value.
This role is primarily desk-based and centers on communication between customers and the Illinois manufacturing plant. The position works closely with a bilingual team that includes Japanese expatriates, so comfort in a cross-cultural environment is important.
Responsibilities
- Research and pursue new business opportunities within manufacturing and automation-related industries
- Manage and develop relationships with assigned customer accounts by understanding production needs, goals, and long-term outlook
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and the Illinois plant
- Create quotations and support project timelines, budgets, and coordination
- Work closely with engineering, suppliers, subcontractors, and administration throughout project lifecycles
- Present and explain products and services to prospective customers
- Negotiate agreements and maintain accurate records of sales activity and data
- Process and review orders to ensure timely completion
- Provide post-sales support and respond quickly to customer concerns
- Compile and analyze sales data to identify trends
- Stay current on company offerings and industry developments
- Perform necessary data entry and reporting tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field preferred
- Sales experience
- Strong English communication skills
- Interest in manufacturing industries (automotive, machinery, electronic components, etc.) preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- B2B sales experience
