Sales Account Manager
Department: Fluid Power Division
Reports To: Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: $85-120K
(Negotiable based on experience fit)
Position Summary:
The Sales Account Manager drives growth within assigned OEM accounts while representing a company committed to engineering excellence and vehicle safety. Our hydraulic components directly impact vehicle control and performance, and this role communicates that value to customers, develops long-term relationships, coordinates commercial activities, and ensures alignment between customer requirements and internal teams to support sustainable, high-quality growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or 4–6 years of related experience.
- Experience selling to OEM customers.
- Experience within the hydraulics or fluid power industry preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective presentation and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational ability.
- Occasional overnight travel required based on customer needs.
- Domestic and potential international travel may be required.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and perform prolonged computer work
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Growth & Strategy
- Understand the hydraulic component product portfolio to identify opportunities within assigned OEM accounts.
- Develop and execute plans to maintain and grow business with assigned customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure objectives are realistic and achievable.
Customer Relationship Management
- Identify and proactively communicate with key customer personnel to build trusted, professional relationships.
- Communicate product requirements and capabilities effectively between customers and internal stakeholders.
- Visit customers as needed to support ongoing sales and account development efforts.
Commercial & Account Management
- Coordinate completion of business and supply agreements.
- Support and maintain required customer documentation.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within established approval guidelines.
- Monitor accounts and assist with collections when necessary.
- Obtain appropriate executive approval prior to entering into binding agreements.
Internal Reporting & Corporate Support
- Participate in sales meetings and related activities.
- Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized internal documentation.
- Support corporate goals and policies as directed.
- Assist with additional sales and marketing initiatives as assigned.
