Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience)

About the Role
A global supplier of polymer-based materials, services, and solutions is seeking a Manager, Sales & Marketing to drive strategic new business development initiatives in the United States. This role will play a critical part in supporting the company’s mid- to long-term growth strategy by identifying, developing, and executing new business opportunities across emerging and high-growth markets. Position Summary
The Manager, Sales & Marketing will lead strategic new business development initiatives aligned with the company’s future growth objectives. This role focuses on identifying market opportunities, developing business cases, and driving projects from concept through commercialization. Industry focus is broad and may include plastic-related raw materials and products, as well as new materials, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions. The position requires strong initiative, external engagement, and the ability to operate effectively in an evolving, early-stage business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities aligned with corporate growth strategy
- Prospect and develop relationships with potential customers in U.S. growth markets
- Lead cross-functional teams to advance initiatives from concept to execution
- Develop business cases, market analyses, and commercialization strategies
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and corporate teams to support execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs
- Document project assumptions, risks, and next steps to support management decision-making
- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities and lead selected initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong drive and proactive mindset toward new business development
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and early-stage business environments
- Sales experience in plastics, polymers, or chemical materials
- Japanese language proficiency (above daily conversation level) preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural business environment
- Willingness to travel as required (up to 50%)
