Role: Electrical BIM Designer (Skid Equipment – Drawings & Wiring)

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN

Salary: $80,000–$100,000

Work Type: Full-time, Onsite

Travel: Infrequent (0–10%)

Position Overview

This role supports skid-mounted equipment builds by creating clean, build-ready electrical BIM models and drawings. You’ll model panels, conduit, cable tray, and instrumentation, and help produce accurate wiring and shop documentation that supports smooth fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D electrical BIM models for skid-mounted systems
  • Create and maintain skid electrical drawings and wiring documentation
  • Model panels, conduit, cable tray, and instrumentation
  • Perform clash detection and coordinate resolutions
  • Maintain model data, attributes, and revisions
  • Review customer specifications and project documentation
  • Support quantity take-offs and shop drawing preparation
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams
  • Work within project schedules and budgets
  • Maintain safe work practices

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (single-line diagrams, panel drawings, electrical architecture)
  • Knowledge of UL and NEC standards
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Associate degree in controls or electrical systems preferred
  • Panel design experience preferred (5–10+ years a plus)
  • Industrial or water-treatment facility experience a plus
