Ultrapure Water Specialist

Location: Manassas, VA

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,000–$130,000 DOE

Position Overview

The Ultrapure Water Specialist supports an established customer base while helping expand services with new clients. This role serves as a technical consultant for UPW operations and maintenance, applying deep knowledge of ultrapure water specifications to improve system performance. Through consultative engagement, the role identifies opportunities for consumables and system expansion aligned with customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support on-site UPW operations, maintenance, and performance monitoring
  • Troubleshoot issues, drive corrective actions, and train on-site staff
  • Coordinate consumables planning, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Prepare clear recommendations, documentation, and routine reporting
  • Identify opportunities and support solution expansion (consumables and equipment) aligned to site goals

Required Qualifications

  • Ultrapure water maintenance experience and/or UPW engineering background is required
  • 5+ years of experience in UPW systems management or advanced water purification
  • Experience supporting midsized facilities and working directly with site stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience

Technical Experience Needed

Hands-on experience with several of the following UPW technologies:

  • Reverse osmosis (RO)
  • Gas transfer / degasification
  • Ion exchange
  • EDI (electrodeionization)
  • Ultrafiltration (UF)
  • UV systems

Additional Requirements

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and solid organization/follow-through
  • Proven track record meeting goals and navigating operational challenges
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work style
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
  • No visa sponsorhip available
  • Background check and drug screen required
