Global RE development company in LA seeks Accounting Staff , supporting Controller/Treasurer in all accounting related functions as well as supporting the Vice President in coordinating project management. Emphasizing financial accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and cross-department collaboration.


Reports to: Controller/Treasurer     

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, $30-40/hour

Hybrid 3 days in office, 2 days WFH

M-F, 8:30  -5:30


Essential Job Functions

 

 ACCOUNTING/PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

           Accounting Responsibilities

•           Prepare month-end journal entries, monthly financial statements and bank reconciliations.

•           Process vendor invoices, maintain A/P records and clarify discrepancies; other clerical tasks related to accounts payable.

•           Prepare tenant invoices, maintain A/R records; respond to tenant inquiries; other clerical tasks related to accounts receivable.

•           Maintain detail accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial records.

•           Prepare forms W-9 and 1099 for appropriate vendors/personnel.

•           Ensure data integrity checks and audit readiness.

•           Assists with Quarter-End and Year-End reporting.

•           Assists with internal and external audit requests as needed.


           Project Management Support

•           Reviews and inputs new leases and/or lease renewals in designated software.

•           Maintain tenants’ information, occupancy rates and tenant’s insurance/aircraft information.

•           Maintain rent rolls and rent schedules and assist Vice President with rental rates/rent increases.

•           Update loan schedules for each project and notify necessary personnel.

•           Assist in preparing budgets for Vice President.

•           Review monthly rent charges, sales taxes and other charges.  

•           Communicate with agents to process tenants’ security deposits.

•           Monitor commissions to agents and prepare necessary documents.

•           Maintain vendor lien releases.

•           Prepare drafts of purchase authorizations and other documents requested by Vice President.

•           Update Loopnet an online marketing site.

•           High level of accuracy and paired with an organized approach to correspondence.

•           Perform special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Upper Management.

•           Maintain good communication with Upper Management, office staff members and outside contacts.

•           Comply with all company policies and procedures.

•           Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe workplace.


Qualifications

Education Experience

•           Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Work Experience

•           Related experience of three to five years in Accounting, Property Management or related field.
