Company: A global Japanese electronics manufacturer

Position: Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager oversees end-to-end accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance with US GAAP, and alignment with a foreign parent company’s reporting requirements. This role manages core accounting functions, supervises A/R and A/P staff, and serves as a key liaison with external partners and internal stakeholders across regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, month-end close, and account reconciliations
• Supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and budget/forecast reports
• Manage ERP-based accounting processes (e.g., general ledger, sub-ledgers, fixed assets, inventory valuation)
• Coordinate payroll processing with a third-party provider and ensure accurate payroll entries
• Manage multiple bank accounts and banking relationships
• Ensure timely filing of Sales & Use Tax and coordination of federal and state corporate income taxes with external advisors
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and parent company requirements
• Reconcile related-party transactions and submit financial data for consolidation reporting
• Review contracts, insurance coverage, employee benefits, and import duty/tariff accounting treatment
• Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and support cross-functional and international collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• 8+ years of accounting experience with strong expertise in monthly close under US GAAP (CPA preferred)
• Working knowledge of IFRS
• Experience with corporate income tax review and compliance
• Proficiency with ERP systems (JD Edwards or SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills
